I. Why does the record show offsite clock-in or clock-out when employees use the company Wi-Fi?
Reason: One Wi-Fi network may have multiple MAC addresses. The Wi-Fi network used by employees wasn't recorded in Attendance Admin.
Solutions:
1.1 Employees give Wi-Fi information to the administrator:
- Employees can open the Attendance app and tap Settings to view My Device. They can give the ssid and bssid to the administrator (the ssid is the Wi-Fi name and the bssid is the MAC address).
1.2 The administrator can enter the Wi-Fi network information by using one of the following two methods:
- Manually input in the Attendance Admin (see above Method 1: Manually specify for details).
- If the administrator and employees are in the same working area (for example, share the same Wi-Fi network), the administrator can easily add the information by mobile (see above Method 3: Find Wi-Fi network using a mobile device for details).
II. What is a MAC address?
A MAC address is the unique physical address of a Wi-Fi network device. One single Wi-Fi network device only corresponds to one MAC address. Different Wi-Fi devices may have the same name (the name can be customized by the user) but different MAC addresses.
III. Why is the Wi-Fi attendance function not available on some Android mobile devices?
Due to operating system issues, some Android mobile devices need to enable the location service to automatically use Wi-Fi attendance.
